iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review
Unlike some robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid of taking on the stairs. However, just like any other mop or vacuum it is prone to getting blocked by debris such as loose tennis shoes ribbons, beads or yarn, play jewelry or other loose objects.
The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms, and even create zones that are not allowed to enter. You can also track the progress of your mops and their battery levels.
iRobot Combo j7+
The Combo J7+ is part of the iRobot robot vacuum and mop lineup that combines the robot cleaner's smart mapping capabilities and its ability to tackle spills. It uses the same acoustic sensors onboard and iAdapt 2.0 navigation that are used in other Roomba options and maps your home 7x faster than earlier models. It can also be set to keep Out Zones and Clean Zones to tell the robot which rooms it should avoid and when it should clean them.
The most significant feature of the j7 is its robotic arm, which keeps the mop pad hidden away when not in use, and then lowers it to deal with carpets or hard flooring. The idea is to not spray water onto the rug and the Combo j7+ does well at this in my testing. The robot backed away when it saw a rug and didn't try to get over it even when I moved the rug around a few times.
The arm is equipped with a 240mL tank that is easily removed and refilled. This makes it much easier to use as opposed to the mop pads that are found on many other 2-in-1 robotic arms. It uses iRobot PrevisionVision obstacle-avoidance technology which is more advanced than other systems of this type.
iRobot Combo i5
Designed for mopping and vacuuming in one machine This is an excellent choice for multitaskers. The vacuuming process is completed by using a special bin that can accommodate up to 60 days worth of dust. According to iRobot it reduces dust that is released into the air. The i5+ comes with dual multi-surface rubber brushes as well as Power-Lifting suction to take care of dirt and dust hair, pet hair, and staining. Simply replace the Mopping Bin with a compatible cleaning product and you're ready to mop.
The i5+ runs iRobot OS and is smarter as you use it. It creates a Smart Map, which remembers the names of rooms as well as your cleaning preferences. The iRobot App lets you set a schedule or direct the robot to clean a specific room.

It can create a map for the entire house, meaning it can clean any place you want in just one run. It also can avoid objects such as backpacks, cords, or toys. It will also avoid shoes, socks and litter boxes. You can plan cleaning schedules in your home and remotely control your robot with the iRobot App.
iRobot Combo i3
The iRobot Combo i3 has been updated from the original Roomba i3. It still comes with a HEPA-filter to remove allergens, and the same fantastic dust compartment that is outside, but it now supports smart mapping. You can now create zones that are not accessible to prevent the vacuum from vaccuming these areas repeatedly. The i3 Plus still has a bunch of other excellent features like its advanced cleaning system with 10x power-lifting suction and three-stage cleaning process. It also has a textured surface that helps keep away fingerprints, dust and hair of pets.
It cleans most debris and performs well on bare flooring, but had trouble with pet hair on low-pile carpets. It does an excellent job with high pile carpets though and is much quieter than the other models. The i3 costs a little more than the Roborock S4 Max, but it comes with a self-emptying mechanism that cleans the mop pads and replenishes the reservoir with water.
With the i3 application, you can set up schedules for cleaning at a specific time to suit your needs. You can also control your robot via your voice assistant to start or stop cleaning. It also monitors the unique floor plan of your home to offer personalized scheduling and cleaning habits. It makes use of the most advanced sensors for mapping to navigate hardwood and carpet and also learns your routine to improve performance.
iRobot Combo i2
The Combo i2 robot vacuum and mop is the most recent product from iRobot. It combines iRobot's smart floor cleaning technologies to make it an excellent choice for homes with hard floors and carpets or rugs. The Combo i2 uses a combo system that allows you to switch between vacuuming and mopping at the touch of a switch. It also features iRobot's advanced navigation technology. Its PrevisionVision system is far superior to the standard and will not encounter obstacles like power cables and stairs.
Its Smart Map remembers the rooms you clean and your preferences. It will tell you whether the machine is in a room that requires special attention, such as a kitchen or living area. It also has the Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal system that eliminates dust automatically for up to 60 days.
Another excellent characteristic of the Combo i2 is its dual multi-surface brushes. They are more effective than standard mops, removing dirt from corners and edges. This is made possible by the robot's onboard acoustic sensors. The Combo i2 also offers powerful suction as well as an intelligent design. It does however have an effective cleaning system and a set of rubber brushes that aren't tangled up with pet hair. It's a great choice for homes that have high-pile carpets since it is able to handle more dirt and debris than weaker vacuums. The i4 also requires less maintenance, has lower recurring costs and is more efficient in its most suction-free mode.
